The bright light of a desert afternoon slants through the windows of a pale-walled hospital room.
A red fabric screen partitions off a section of the room, concealing a fold-out cot bed from the view of the door.
A young trainee nurse ELSA, removes a bouquet of dead flowers from a vase on the window sill, she changes the putrefied water and replaces them with a fresh bunch.
She smooths the clean white sheets of the bed, perfecting the folds, she lays her hand on the pillow.
Abbassia is a WWI story set in Egypt by Edan Lacey (Writer/Director).
The two leading actors also did a wonderful job of bringing Edan’s story to life, and it was a great opportunity for me to help them get into 1916 soldier and nurse characters.
