One morning a woman wake to find her husband dead. Detectives are called to the scene. They suspect food poisoning; possibly the soup he ate last night.
But who made the soup, was it shop bought or home made? And why are the detectives more interested in ice cream than a possible motive?
As they dig deeper the plot thickens and their greedy predisposition leads to one of the most bizarre meals in the history of modern cinema.
Soop is a stunningly shot short film Written and Directed by Eden Diebel and Produced by David Bedelis. Shot in a heritage listed beautiful and eclectic house in Wahroonga.
Take one reclusive woman and her dead husband; then add two incompetent detectives and a halfwit bloke who can’t paint a straight line. Add water and you have Soop, a surreal black comedy that‘ll eat you up.
Soop was filmed over a two day period. It was wonderful working with experienced and talented actors such as Jeanette Cronin, Brandon Burke, Alan Dukes, Gareth Davies and Greg Poppleton.
Currently doing the festival rounds, looking forward to seeing this film succeed. Based on the amount of work that went into it from all involved, it certainly deserves any accolades that it gets.
I was the hair and make-up artist on the film and took care of all five actors.
