I had the opportunity to work on Missy Higgins’ Shark Fin Blues music video. It is a beautiful song, and appropriately, a beautiful video was made to showcase it.
The music video was made at Sancta Sophia College, Sydney University. It is a stunning venue; we all felt like we were at Hogwarts!
The music video was Directed by Patrick Fileti and produced by the very talented crew at Collider Films, plus freelance staff. Missy Higgins was an absolute delight to work with, very relaxed and down to earth. And it was a pleasure to support the wonderful Becca Gilmartin, and seeing her in action creating some striking faux tattoos on an older couple.
With a 6:00am start call, the day progressed smoothly, and it was quite a pleasure to see all the different actors, young musicians and dancer perform their part in the video once we had prepped them. I was so busy preparing the two young male actors and the ballerina, that I hadn’t noticed that the gentleman having fake tattoos put on him, was my drama teacher from over 20 years ago! It was great to catch-up with David Ritchie; I thoroughly enjoyed his acting and classes 20 years ago, and it was a pleasure to watch him in action again.
Below are some behind the scene images taken by a Collider photographer. And do take a moment to listen to Missy’s Shark Fin Blues – it is an absolutely beautiful song!
