Veronica Colvin is a versatile contemporary classical artist with a passion for telling stories via her artworks – be they portraiture or still life.
She primarily focuses on oil painting, but also works with a variety of mediums, such as graphite, coloured /pastel pencils, gouache, oil pastels, clay, make-up and digital media.
Sydney based and classically professionally trained, Veronica trains with Julian Ashton Art School at The Rocks, Sydney (Australia’s oldest running classical art school), and with Studio Escalier, Montmartre, France.
In 2018, Julian Ashton Art School awarded Veronica a Certificate in Fine Arts and The George Lambert Sculpture Prize for “The Coat”.
In 2019, Julian Ashton Art School awarded Veronica the SMSA Scholarship (full-time) for 2020.
In 2020, Veronica started training with Studio Escalier, still life and portraiture (oil painting).
Prior to focusing on painting, Veronica was a Hair, Make-Up and Special Effects Artist, with a strong focus in the Film and TV / Commercial industries. Prior to that, Veronica worked as a Communications / Public Relations Practitioner, working in agency and in-house roles across the consumer and technology industries.
